TinkerList is supported by the Innovatiecentrum

The lean startup framework of Eric Ries, Steve Blank and Ash Maurya helps startups and companies with radical new ideas. It gives companies a greater chance of success to build new products and launch them.

This framework offers a structured way to develop step-by-step, through rapid iterations and be in close contact with the customers and users. Erik, Vero and Kurt explain how the model lean canvas is an optimised business model that helps to clarify and validate essential hypotheses in the development of TinkerList.

Erik explains: “As a director of shows and quizzes I am constantly facing the same difficulties each time, to bring together creative content and share it with all project stakeholders. This was the starting point, to think how it could be improved. Even more important, is to know whether this is shared by other persons who participate in TV productions such as editors, directors, producers, etc. So by listening to the different target groups, we were able to identify the top three specific issues. First, the main problem is that there is a wide range of generic and non-specific tools. Second, these tools are spread across many users and they do not always provide real-time access. Third, they show no flow to content across the various production stages.”

Vero adds: “It is important to validate the specific implementation and refine it constantly with the feedback of customers and end-users. Users of TinkerList are creative teams of editors, the Director, producers, etc. But the customers are the production companies that manage productions to which these people cooperate. The expectations of both of them can quite often diverge. Our early adopters are the Flemish production houses where we already work with or have worked with in the past. In the future we will roll out to TinkerList to the rest of Belgium and also abroad.”

Kurt elaborates: “The unique value of TinkerList is that it offers a solution to the whole process of television productions. TinkerList supports effectively the creative development process to make television productions. Our large competitive advantage is that we are a multidisciplinary team that combines experience on creative TV production, software development and user experience.”
